If your Toyota GR Supra A90/A91 has the factory BMW-based iDrive system but Apple CarPlay is missing or limited, you may be able to activate wireless full-screen Apple CarPlay without adding an aftermarket screen or external CarPlay box.

Sequential Racing offers a software-based Wireless Apple CarPlay Activation for GR Supra and BMW iDrive 5/6, currently listed at $250 AUD. The activation is designed for compatible NBT Evo systems and keeps the factory screen, iDrive controller and OEM interface.

Which GR Supra models can use Apple CarPlay activation?

This service is intended for compatible Toyota GR Supra A90/A91 models using the BMW NBT Evo infotainment platform. Compatibility depends on the head unit and software version rather than only the year of the car, so we recommend checking the system before booking.

Do you need to replace the Supra screen?

How long does the activation take?

For compatible vehicles, the activation itself is typically a short appointment. Sequential Racing offers installation from our Altona North, Melbourne workshop. Remote activation is also available for suitable vehicles in Australia and overseas.

Remote Apple CarPlay activation

For remote activation, you will generally need:

  • A Windows laptop
  • An ENET OBD2 cable
  • An Ethernet-to-USB adapter if your laptop requires one
  • A stable internet connection

The remote session can then be carried out with guided access to the vehicle and laptop. VIN and software checks are completed before activation.

How to check your Supra before booking

Before purchasing, send us your VIN and the infotainment version information shown in the vehicle. This lets us confirm whether your Supra is running a supported system.

My own journey into automotive culture was shaped by the vibrant scene of the 90s, particularly growing up in Melbourne, where car salons and cultural exhibitions brought JDM customization to life, from slammed suspensions, to under glow lights, supercharged turbos adorning from the streets to showroom exhibition floors.

Amidst the rapid evolution of the Australian automotive landscape, I recognized an opportunity to cultivate the car community around the modification and enhancement of the GR Supra.
